The legendary land, the magical light, the subtle and changing coloring of the landscape and its noble silhouette have made the Sainte-Victoire mountain a source of inspiration for many great artists, one of the most famous of which is the impressionist Paul Cézanne. In addition to its natural splendor, the Sainte-Victoire mountain is also a prime location for vineyards.
The Domaine de Saint-Ser has the rare privilege of being entirely located in the “Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire” area. It covers 33 hectares (82,5 acres) that enjoy ideal geological and climatic conditions.
The vineyard, which grows on a hillside, benefits from extraordinary sunlight thanks to its southern exposure and, in particular, the reverberation of the light of the white rocks of the mountainside.
Sainte-Victoire’s shape makes it possible for the vineyard to escape the summer storms that hit its northern face and unfurl on the neighbouring towns. The argilo-calcareous, rocky and poor soil favors the production of quality grapes and gives the wines their natural suppleness. The Mistral goes around Sainte-Victoire, drying the vines after the rains, purifying the vineyard and contributing to the growth of the grapes.
The Domaine de Saint-Ser has one of the most modern wine cellars of the appellation. Its stainless steel tanks, fully equipped with temperature-control devices, allow our cellar master to prepare top-quality wines.
Les Hauts de Saint-Ser ~ Red – AOC Côtes de Provence
This vintage is only made in exceptional years. It produces a wine with the purest characteristics by blending the two best parcels of the domain’s land. Syrah grapes give it a leathery aroma and tannic roundness, and Cabernet-Sauvignon grapes give it a strong structure and longevity.
Prestige ~ Rosé – AOC Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire
This is the vintage on which the Domaine de Saint-Ser’s reputation was built. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Rolle grapes are what give it an unusually complex aroma since each variety contributes its own personal note.
Prestige ~ Red – AOC Côtes de Provence
This wine is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet grapes that are harvested when fully mature.
After masking and stripping, the grape must ferments for several weeks in contact with the pulp and skins, giving it color and structure.
This wine will keep for 6 to 8 years.
Prestige ~ White – AOC Côtes de Provence
Made exclusively from the Rolle (or Vermentino) grape variety harvested just past maturity, this wine is strongly aromatic in a way that is very characteristic of this variety, evoking tastes of grapefruit and pineapple.
20% of the vintage is placed in new barrels, adding a delicate complexity to the bouquet of aromas, leaning towards vanilla
